Riding Lesson Information

New to the sport? Suggestions for Lessons
·
ASTM-SEI approved
helmets are required
at all times. All hair must be pulled back into a low ponytail or braid for
proper fit under helmet. Hair nets are recommended. This is to ensure
proper fit of the helmet, clear vision, and no distractions. Please no
winter hats under helmets in winter months. For warmth they make fleece
helmet covers that go around the head and neck, and neck warmers work well
also. The stable will happily loan you a riding helmet until you
decide to 'stick with it' and/or have time to purchase one of your own.
Before purchasing any items, please speak with your trainer. Their
experience and knowledge will make your shopping process much easier and
affordable.
·
Appropriate, well
fitting shirts/ jackets:
Polo shirts in the summer, fitted jackets/vests with layers underneath in
the winter. Shirts have to be tucked in. In summer months tank tops are
fine, in winter months many layers are best. Layers that zip are best so
you can remove them easily as you warm up riding without removing your
helmet.
·
Riding breeches or
jodphers:
Jeans with half
or full chaps are acceptable.
Breeches or jodphers
are best and more comfortable than jeans. They make winter riding breeches
or you can layer with long underwear. Before purchasing any items, please
speak with your trainer. Their experience and knowledge will make your
shopping process much easier and affordable.
·
Paddock/Riding
boots:
Absolutely no mules, sandals or high heels. If wearing short paddock boots,
half chaps or jodphers are recommended. Breeches are designed for tall
boots. Before purchasing any items, please speak with your trainer. Their
experience and knowledge will make your shopping process much easier and
affordable.
·
Riding Gloves:
In all temperatures for the safety and comfort of the rider. In colder
months hand/feet warmers are recommended and can be purchased inexpensively
from your local sporting goods store or tack shop.
Credit is never extended and payment for services is expected at time
service is rendered.
·
